What is HID?
High-intensity discharge (HID) lamps are a type of electrical lamps which produce light by means of an electric arc between tungsten electrodes housed inside a translucent or transparent fused quartz or fused alumina tube. This tube is filled with both gas and metal salts. The gas facilitates the arc's initial strike. Once the arc is started, it heats and evaporates the metal salts forming a plasma, which greatly increases the intensity of light produced by the arc and reduces its power consumption. High-intensity discharge lamps are a type of arc lamp.
Compared with fluorescent and incandescent lamps, HID lamps have much higher efficacy: they give a greater amount of light output per watt of electricity input.
What is a single beam hid kit?
Single beam hid kits, are hid kits with only one hid capsule. This also means it is only a low beam hid kit, or it could be only a high beam hid kit but not both. By purchasing a HID kit for example H4 as a single beam, you will not be able to use your high beams after. Therefore, we recommend you purchase a HID/HALOGEN combo, or a Bi-Xenon kit with a moving bulb.

MOVING-XENON BULBS
In a typical low beam conversion, a
twin filament halogen lamp is replaced by a single hid capsule. After this installation you will lose the use of your high beam.
Voltex presents a solution to this problem by combining low and high
beam functionality in a single lamp. This is done by simply moving the
light source to reflect at the high beam's normal position. The HID
light operation is not interrupted during the switch from high to low.
Will I be able to Install the HID kit myself?
All of our kits are "plug and play hid kits". They are very easy to install, and can be done within 10-30 min depending on the vehicle. Each wire is made to fit only one correct socket, so you can't go wrong with the installation.
Will I be able to re-install my halogen bulbs at any time?
We understand that people sell their cars, so its known that taking out your HID Kit is important. With our kits you will be able to uninstall your kit and replace will standard halogen or any lights of your preference. The process is exactly like the installation, but instead backwards. The HID Kit that is taken out, can be used in another automobile with the same bulb size.

If you're HID kit is not turning on, please try one of the following methods to fix this:
1. Often times, the hid kit is not broken, it is the way you connect the hid kit to your vehicle. This problem arises when your vehicles has a different polarity in comparison to how the HID kit's wires came. (positive + red wire) and (negative- black wire). All you simply have to do is switch the black and red wire so it matches to the ones on your vehicles bulb harness. Red with red, and black with black.
What is a confirmed address?
A confirmed address is an address that has been reviewed by PayPal and found to be safe based on information related to the address. For example, a credit card billing address is confirmed because PayPal can check that the address is the same as the address on file at the credit card company.
PayPal provides confirmed addresses to help sellers make informed decisions when shipping goods. As a general rule all accounts have at least one confirmed address and using an account will help increase the number of available confirmed addresses in the account.
How do I confirm my shipping address?
You can confirm your shipping address in three ways:
Add a credit card to your PayPal account. By adding a credit card to your account, PayPal can attempt to confirm your address with your credit card company. If the credit card company is not able to confirm your address, you may be asked to complete the Expanded Use enrollment process to activate your credit card. Your address can be confirmed after that process is complete. Note: Not all credit card companies are able to confirm addresses.
Apply for PayPal Buyer Credit. If approved, the address on your application will be a confirmed address.
Complete Alternate Address Confirmation. This process takes several days and is only available for U.S. accounts. To learn more, log in to your PayPal account and visit the visit the Alternate Address Confirmation page.
Why do some sellers prefer buyers that provide a confirmed address?
A confirmed address provides sellers with confidence in shipping to the address provided with a payment. A confirmed address is an address that has been reviewed by PayPal and found to be safer than addresses that do not have similar characteristics. For example, a credit card billing address will be confirmed because it is a safer address than most other addresses. PayPal provides confirmed address information to help sellers make informed decisions when shipping goods. Some sellers may prefer to ship to a confirmed address in order to qualify for the Seller Protection Policy.
Should I touch the bulb?
Never touch the bulb when installing your new set of bulbs. By touching
the bulb, you're transferring the oils from your skin onto the glass surface
of the bulb. This will result in a shorter life and cause the bulb to blow up.
If you've touched the bulb already, get a dry towel or cloth made of 100% cotton
and wipe off the oils on the surface of the bulb. Whenever installing a new
set of bulbs on your car, always use a towel or just be careful and DO NOT touch
the glass surface of the bulb.
Kelvin Myth
What is Kelvin? Kelvin or the "K" is the measure of the color or output
of light on the temperature scale. For example, stock halogens or HID kits are
rated at 4,300K on the kelvin temperature scale. The kelvin is not a measure
of how bright the bulb is, which is a constant misconceptionn people make. The
unit of measurement for the brightness of the bulb would be Lumens. Below are
some diagrams of the kelvin temperature scale.
HID vs. Halogen Technologies
HID lighting improves durability by 10 times as road vibrations can cause damage
to halogen filament, but there is nothing to break inside HID bulb. These light
sources also produce a blue-white light that is safer because it is closer to
natural daylight. The color temperature is more than 5000K compared to 2300K
for halogen. The light output from a 35W HID Xenon lamp is 300% more light than
a 55W halogen bulb. The HID Xenon system will also consume much less power from
your vehicles electrical system and generate much less heat during operation.
Are HID Kits Street Legal?
HID kits are not street legal. All HID kits are for exhibition and
off-road use and will only sell the kit to be used for these purposes. We are
not responsible for buyers who violate the terms of sale while in which they
will assume all responsibilities for any unauthorized or unintended use other
than exhibition or off-road use.
How long will HID VOLTEX Bulbs last?
HID VOLTEX lamps are designed to last for the life of your vehicle. They will
run for an average of 2500 hours, most likely longer then you'll have the car
for. Our lamp kits and bulbs are made of the finest materials available.
Could I not just purchase a stronger watt halogen bulb to get a brighter light?
VOLTEX HID LAMPS are 35 watts while traditional halogen bulbs are 55 watts.
Even though XENON HID lamps draw less current, they produce 3 times the light
output as the higher wattage halogen bulbs. Increasing the wattage will make
the bulb a little brighter but still much dimmer that the XENON HID lamps. Also,
AMPS = (BULB WATTS X 2) / BATTERY VOLTAGE OUTPUT (12). So as you increase the
wattage on your bulb you increase the current draw on your entire electrical
system. This is critical in motorcycle applications.
Will DRL (daytime running lights) or Auto Switch On effect the HID kit?
For vehicles with DRL that use the same bulb for both DRL and low beam
you will need to deactivate your DRL. DRL operate on reduced wattage or fluctuating
current levels. This will cause the HID system to flicker and burn out prematurely.
Please ensure that your OEM headlight harness is providing a constant 12V to
ensure that no damage will be caused to the HID system.
